Flor Argento je poklicna plesalka in učiteljica tanga, kustosinja in producentka, rojena v Buenos Airesu leta 1976. Študirala je zgodovino na univerzi v Buenos Airesu (UBA). Je direktorica šole Besos Brujos Tango in učiteljca Milonge Parakultural v Salonu Canning. Leta 2005 je bila del prestižnega baleta Escuela Aceta argentinskega ministrstva za kulturo.
Nastopala je na glavnih milong Buenos Airesa in Evrope skupaj z odličnimi plesalci zlate dobe tanga kot so Tete Rusconi, Toto Faraldo in Flaco Dany, pa tudi z drugimi plesalci svoje generacije, na primer s Jorgeom Lladóm, Hernanom Alvarezom Prieto in Javierjem Maldonadom.
Trenutno se posveča svojim dvema strastema: plesnim nastopom in poučevanju v najbolj priznanih šolah in milongah Buenos Airesa in Evrope.
Leta 2018 sta z Ignaciom Vázquezom začela s projektom Last Tanda, interaktivno razstavo žive dediščine o plesalcih zlate dobe tanga (1940-ih in 1950-ih). Novembra 2020 se bo odpravila na 19. turnejo po Evropi in obiskala Avstrijo, Belgijo, Francijo, Nemčijo, Italijo, Nizozemsko, Slovenijo in Španijo.

Flor Argento is a professional dancer and tango teacher, curator and producer born in Buenos Aires in 1976. She studied History at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Director of Besos Brujos Tango School and teacher at Milonga Parakultural Salon Canning. She was part of the prestigious Ballet Escuela Aceta of Argentina’s Ministry of Culture in 2005.
She performed and participated in shows in the main milongas of Buenos Aires and Europe together with great dancers of the golden age of tango like Tete Rusconi, Toto Faraldo and Flaco Dany, as well as with other dancers of her generation, including Jorge Lladó, Hernan Alvarez Prieto and Javier Maldonado.
She is currently devoting herself to her two passions: dancing—shows and performances—and teaching in the most renowned schools and milongas of Buenos Aires and the European circuit.
In 2018 she and Ignacio Vázquez inaugurated Last Tanda, an interactive exhibition of living heritage about the emblematic dancers of the golden age of tango (1940s and 1950s). In November 2020 she will go on her 19th tour in Europe (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain).

Tokratno predavanje se osredotoča na pesnike Zlate dobe tanga kot so Discepolo, Manzi, Cadícamo in Pascual María Contursi. Videli bomo, kako se v njihovi liriki odražajo družbene in kulturne spremembe Buenos Airesa.

Predavanje zgodovinarke, učiteljice, plesalke tanga in prijateljice Florencie Argento iz Buenos Airesa je odlična priložnost, da spoznamo kaj novega o tangu.

Flor ohranja zgodovino tanga in ples milonguerov iz 40. in 50. let dvajsetega stoletja, ter s svojim očarljivim delom, ki je del širšega umetniškega, vizualnega multimedijskega projekta, združuje zgodovino in sedanjost.

Exploring tango poetry – Golden age

To keep us connected with each other and tango despite physical distancing, Tango.si presents a series of lectures related to tango dance, tango music and Buenos Aires history.

Learn about Argentine History and culture through Tango poetry.

This lecture focuses on great poets of the Golden age of Tango such as Discepolo, Manzi, Cadícamo and Pascual María Contursi, among others, to discuss how social and cultural transformations are reflected in their lyrics.

The lecture focuses on the history of Tango lyrics from the beginning of the 20th century to the end of the Golden Age of Tango in the mid 50′ to discuss how social and cultural transformations are reflected in its lyrics.

This is a great opportunity to learn something new about tango from Buenos Aires-based curator, historian and tango dancer Flor Argento.

Flor Argento preserves tango history and dance of milongueros from the 1940s and 1950s, and combines history and present in her fascinating work, part of a broader artistic, visual, multimedia project.
